You do not need to prepare a topic, find a speaking partner or worry about what to say. The structure is already there. You can simply join and start speaking.

Sessions are displayed together in one place. You can see what is available and RSVP to the sessions that fit your schedule.
You are not registering for fixed weekly classes. You can join flexibly according to your availability.
New sessions are added according to member demand.

When you arrive, choose the speaking room where you feel most comfortable. Every session welcomes all levels, so you do not need to choose a level-specific session.

Read an answer exactly as it is, adapt it to your own life or speak more freely. The materials provide support without controlling the conversation.
GUIDED SPEAKING PRACTICE
The guidance is built in.
Finnish Fluency Lab is not a traditional Finnish lesson. There is no live grammar teaching, vocabulary teaching or correction during the conversation. The questions, answer models and useful structures are already built into the speaking materials.
This keeps the focus where it belongs: on speaking, listening and responding in Finnish.
PRACTICE AT YOUR OWN LEVEL
Choose the room where you feel comfortable.
You do not need to complete a placement test. Choose the level that gives you enough support while still allowing you to take part in the conversation.
Each room uses speaking prompts prepared specifically for that level.

Take your time. This is speaking practice, not a race through the prompts.
In beginner rooms, one person begins by reading the question and all the answer options aloud.
Everyone then takes a turn answering. Choose one of the prepared answers, combine different answers or change the language to match your own life.
A different person begins the next prompt. Reading and listening to all the options gives everyone more opportunities to speak, hear useful Finnish and notice how the language works.
In the more advanced rooms, the prompts are starting points rather than a checklist. Develop the discussion, add examples and ask natural follow-up questions.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION

Join reception
Enter the session through the event in your Finnish Fluency Lab calendar or email.
Choose your level
Select Beginner, A1, A2, B1 or B2 + and join a small speaking group.
Practise together
Use the prepared materials to read, listen, respond and keep the conversation moving.
✋ Return to reception if you need technical assistance or would like to change rooms.
A RELAXED SPACE FOR REAL CONVERSATION
A few simple things help everyone take part.
Cameras on
Seeing one another makes small-group conversation feel safer, more natural and more welcoming. If you briefly step away, switch your camera back on when you return.

Join a live small-group session and use Finnish with real people in a natural, supportive setting.
No preparation needed
The speaking materials are provided during the session. You only need to arrive ready to take part.
